You Rawk (Rock) Band me Round, Like a Record... Baby.

So it's another exciting post about Rock Band.  In just a few days at Pax East 2012, Harmonix, is launching a new title... what is it?  XBLA title?  New Rock Band-centric game?  New Rock Band 4 game?  Maybe.  I don't know personally.  What I am hoping for (besides all the above options) is that Rock Band is going to make a Guitar jack to USB and allow us gamers (and guitarists/bassists) to be able to plug in a real axe and play their PRO Guitar/Bass upgrades that were introduced to us in Rock Band 3.  I mean, why not Harmonix?  Give RockSmith/Ubisoft a run for their money.  You already have a ton of PRO tracks above and beyond Rocksmith's count.

I also see that you were able to PRO all the old drum charts as well.  Is it really that much harder to do the same for Guitar/Bass upgrades to all existing songs?  Though I've never worked in the game industry as an engineer so I don't know how complex it would be to do that.  If someone could answer that question, or direct me to an answer on that, it would be most kind.

I can't wait for the announcement either way and I'm sure I'll post it here in all it's splendor.  I was going to post this next bit over at the official Rock Band forum, but what the hell, I'll just do it here...

If you could ninja into the Harmonix office, to where the great and terrible, spawned from the Depths of Hell, DLC Master Computer is... what?  You ask what is this is?  Why it's only the most magical item in the Multi-Verse.  Like the Great Oz, its decision is final.  See the folks at Harmonix only put out what the DLC Master Computer says, they actually don't have any control over what DLC is put out.  The Master Computer rules all...

Anyways... If you could sneak into the offices and overrun the DLC Master Computer long enough to put ONE SONG of DLC to the top of it's list and the techies in the trenches would have it completed by next week, I ask you Dear Readers, what song would you pick?

Please respond in the comments below sections and pretty please only limit it one song, and one song only...

A Belated "DVD/Game Tuesday"

Well here it's the weekend and I'm listening to Metal and blogging.  Seems I am playing catch up all week, nothing new.

Well, let's get this show on the road...

Holy shit!  I can't believe someone re-released this on DVD

I saw this on VHS way back in the day when I lived in Modesto.  It's pretty damn twisted.  I am totally amazed that it's coming back out on DVD.  Now a whole new generation of adventurous film-goers will get to experience this "piece" of German Horror cinema.  Not for the weak-stomached, and coming from me is saying something since I've been watching horror films for over 20+ years.  Watch at your risk.  I was going to put the trailer up here but after watching it, I decided against it.  Yes, it's that brutal.

There are not to many Xbox Games, XBLA, or Indie Games coming out this week that I'm dying to play.  I am looking forward to next week's Rock Band releases.  Maybe next week will be more promising...

On a totally different tangent I picked up a amp for my guitar finally.  Super awesome deal on Amazon.  Think I'll play a bit today and then maybe some Rock Band later just for fun.  Hopefully this weekend will be mellow and staying close to home.  Also, those dishes aren't going to do themselves, and neither is that table going to clean itself off.  What happened to the kitchens of the future that cleaned themselves?  Or personal robots for that matter?  It's 2012 for Science's sake!

Life: A Screaming Good Time

Just got back from the Scrap Yard Massacre in Belfair.  Actually was scared a few times this year.  A little sad to see that a few things that were there in 2009 were not there.  But the spinning tunnel is always a great illusion and this year was no exception.  Actors were fresh since we were about the sixth group of seven in.  Good show this year and very mature (at least for us since we were all adults) but lots of screams and good times.

Went to grab some grub afterwards and chat with friends and some new peeps and we were even home early.  Not too shabby.

Tomorrow will be cleaning and some rocking on Rock Band.  And some writing to submit to Weird Tales.  You never know.

Yelp's reviews on the Scrap Yard Massacre in Belfair for those that are interested.

See you tomorrow.  Ground Control in three... two... one.

Video Games: Rock Band Tuesdays

So as most Rock Band aficionado's know Tuesday is the Xbox 360 release for DLC.  I thought I would put my two cents in as to what this week's (and subsequent) future weeks releases are and what I think of the band/songs.

10/11/11 - Xbox 360 releases

Rock the Casbah - The Clash X

Great tune.  Overplayed though.  Looking forward to playing this later today with some other of the 15+ Clash songs that I own.  Sweet.

Blink-182 - The Party Song
                Stay Together for the Kids
                Up All Night X

Not to familiar with Blink 182.  I am sure there is an audience for this band, but it's not me.  I wouldn't even call that music Punk Rock, but what the hell do I know, I am only a child of the 80's.

(X denotes Pro Upgrades)

Come back later where I talk about a pet peeve of mine.  Don't miss it!

Topic: My Top Twenty Songs I want in Rock Band!

So I know I just post about my top five songs in Rock Band.  What can I say?  I'm a hardcore fan of the game.  Totally excited that The Clash is coming to the game on Tuesday.  Rock The Casbah.  Yes, please.  Symphony is just "ugh" with it since she thinks it is the most overplayed song by The Clash, and I agree with her.  Maybe the next one can be Straight to Hell w/ pro upgrades?  Please, Harmonix, and thank you.

Onto another twenty in no particular order:

1.   Sacrifice by Motorhead
2.   1000 Days in Sodom by Venom
3.    Bite It You Scum by GG Allin
4.    Say What You Mean by LUNACHICKS
5.    F'd Up Girl by Vandals
6.    Radioactive by Gene Simmons
7.    It's Grey by T.S.O.L.
8.    Life and Death of the Party by Alice Cooper
9.    Easy on Yourself by Drive-By Truckers
10.  Shortest Straw by Metallica
11.  I Got Friends in Low Places by Garth Brooks
12. Hot for Teacher by Van Halen
13. Wrong by Depeche Mode
14. Home Sweet Home by Motley Crue
15. Pretty Vacant by Sex Pistols
16. Mother by Danzig
17. Sweetness by Fischerspooner
18. Heaven by Ayumi Hamasaki
19. The Power of Thy Sword by Man O' War
20. Queen of Spades by Styx

Sound off in the comments below.

Topic: My Top Five Songs I want in Rock Band!

Top Twenty-Five Songs I want on Rock Band as DLC!

1.  Where the Devil Don't Stay by the Drive By Truckers
2.  Stay Hungry by Twisted Sister
3.  Welcome to Hell by Venom
4.  Straight to Hell by The Clash
5.  Celebrate by The Nephilim

Two out of the five bands are already in Rock Band so there's some hope.  Why Twisted Sister isn't in the game yet is totally beyond me but there really isn't a lot of Hair Metal in the game, so I guess it is really no surprise.  Maybe we'll see them soon.  The Nephilim (or more commonly known as Fields of the Nephilim) and Venom I doubt will ever see the light of day but I hope they are eventually introduced to the Rock Band library.

Anything you'd like to see in Rock Band.  Type in the comment section below.

Video Games: Rock Band 3 or Do you Rock with Plastic Guitars?

I've done other posts about Rock Band (see earlier post on this blog).  Well this one is about Rock Band 3.  Great game.  There are some things that I love about it.  Better visuals.  The revamp song library screen with searchable tabs.  More DLC than you can shake a drum stick at!  At this point there are just over 3000 songs.  The list is located here:

Rock Band's growing list of music

There is also a great website that is not affiliated with Harmonix/Rock Band

DLCQuickplay sortable list of Rock Band music and more!

Also if you're curious about my personal profile on Rock Band, you can find it here:

Sourdaddyjones' Rock Band profile

I usually play guitar or bass.  I normally don't play vocals or drums online because I am still only in the Easy-Medium tier.  If anybody on XBOX LIVE wants to play, check out my dlc and send me a Game Invite with Rock Band in the header.  Hope to see you on LIVE!

Video Games: Rock Band (franchise)

I've been an avid rhythm video game player since Guitar Hero 2.  I even still play on Guitar Hero 2 guitars, I tried a Rock Band guitar (from Rock Band 2) and I didn't care for it.  Though I don't play Guitar Hero anymore to say the least.

If you'd like to see my insanely large list of DLC for Rock Band, please direct your attention here:

IT WILL MAKE YOUR EYES BLEED

It's a awesome game!  Can't wait to see what the rest of the year brings for Rock Band and the DLC library.

Games: The Beatles: Rock Band

Love it and it's even cooler since I haven't really listened to too much of the Beatles. Yes, I said it! So what... like you've never seen a film or heard a song and someone was like "I can't believe you never seen/heard this! Do you live under a rock?" Well, yes I did, but the rent on the rock was too much and the bathroom had cockroaches!

Wait... I'm getting off course. Yeah, the game is good. Rent it, buy it... just check it out!

I've had Octopus's Garden in my head for two days!
