Wow. It's been a little over a month since my last blog post. I guess I'll just throw down what is up in my life.
Got to see some family over Thanksgiving and that was nice. Honestly, it's been pretty quiet here for the last month or so.
I'll be starting local Heroclix games and tournaments again at my local library for the eight to seventeen age range youth there. It started with two kids and by the end of the tournaments last year we had at least twelve unique players, it was also split pretty even between boy and girls. Every time I go to the library at least one kids asks me about playing.
Last year two people, one a store owner (or employee) (Dustin) and a local Tucson player (Mikee) helped out and submitted two boxes of Heroclix, ranging from Common to LE's. After a few months we ran out of clixs to play with, I asked a few days ago on the HCRealms website and the response I got was overwhelming. So far, 6-8 on the forums said that they were sending a box. As I said to them on the forums, "these kids are going to be swimming in clixs", I still think that is true. I mean, six to eight boxes of stuff? I am totally thinking that will last the year.
The library wants to expand the player base from our town to the neighboring towns so we can play in a sort of regional type competitive play eventually. I think it would be great if it got that large, I love how the game can be played in a basic form (no cards or powers really) for the eight to ten age range, and carded play with powers is liked more by the eleven to seventeen age range. As long as everyone is having fun is all that really matters.
Alright, I think I'll post some stuff about upcoming Heroclix sets. See you in a bit.
