Re: Life & Gaming

So I played on my Xbox 360 today, I haven't played since the 29 of December, that is almost five months now.  That length of time of non-gaming hasn't happened since 1997 (where were you back in 97'?).

Played some Rock Band 3 (of course!), three matches on Smackdown Vs. Raw 2008, and about ten seconds of Saints Row 2.  I don't have a gold account right now, so not only can I not play online multiplayer I can't even use the messaging service (or chat speak either, I think) so it kind has always irked me about the 360.  The Playstation 3 lets you play multiplayer for free, hell and if you get Playstation Plus you get a gaggle of free games every month (they rotate and I don't think you get to keep them), seems like a pretty good deal if you ask me, so what is the deal Microsoft?  I guess it won't matter here in another half a year when the next Xbox and the PS4 arrive on the scene.

I am just not sure if I am going for that ride one more time.  Gaming has emptied my pockets on more than one occasion and I really don't have the funds or disposable income to put into the hobby anymore, and frankly I would like to do other things, you know, like write stories, screenplays, and record podcasts.

Don't get me wrong I love gaming as I've done it all my life, and I am sure I will get back into it again, maybe when it's virtual reality a la' Ready Player One style or once it's like this:

Look into the future... and be afraid!  Blup Blup: It'll be Science-Fact soon. (Achievement Unlocked)
