A Year of Rock Band: Daydreaming the Future Edition, Part 1

I thought I would talk a little bit about the future of Rock Band.  The only word that we've gotten down from the mountain is this quote by Alex Rigopoulos in May 2013 issue of Game Informer:

"While we don't have any active title releases in development right now, it's never far from our thoughts, and you can be sure that this franchise will be back, guns blazing, at some point in the future when the time is right."

And more interestingly, regarding DLC:

"Certainly, it would be our ambition if and when we migrate Rock Band to the eighth-generation consoles, it would be our ambition to carry forward players' entitlements and their music libraries to the next generation. That investment that players have made over the years in those libraries is something that we would want to take great pains to protect as we carry Rock Band into the future."

Okay the fact that there's talk of RB hitting the next Xbox, Playstation, and quite possibly the Wii U in the future makes me pretty darn happy.  Granted I haven't play in a few months but I like to keep up all the news, as it sits today I might dust the ol' Xbox and play a little today!  A little birthday present to myself I guess.

I thought I would post my 52 weeks of DLC (in four five parts, this being Part 1 obiviously, these songs are all personal preferences and I am going to assume (besides Metallica Track Pack 01 and The Beatles: Rock Band, *insert tear here*) that all tracks from previous games, and all DLC from the music store and from the RBN would be integrated and accessible, you know, that perfect world we all wish we lived in, yep, that's the one.  So without further ado Part 1 of my 4 Part series:

Now that we got that out of the way, I know all you music nuts and DLC hounds need the nitty-gritty up front I thought I would talk about the gameplay features that I would love to see.

1. Bring back PvP Rock Battles!  Those were cool in RB 2 and we should see them make a return.
2. Make a better story mode, now I'm not saying the Tour Modes were horrible, but more variety would be cool.  Make some mini rock games to get through to each gig, and have it occasionaly hard to play, say for instance one the band members gets stoned, then they would have to play left-handed if they normally play right handed, but if they do great then the payout would be bigger after the song or something, just throwing stuff out there, don't hate the player and all that...
3. More unlockable clothing, seriously!  I want to make my character look like the a Universal monster or a J-Pop artist give me those options, I am taking sport game customization here, same with all band equipment, and a kick-back pad, all with unlockable posters and band room paraphernalia.  That would be pretty sweet.

I am sure I will have more ideas of game play and extras that I will talk about in Part 2, along with another two months of DLC coming at you!  Stay tuned and chirp up if you like or didn't like the DLC I picked out.

  1. One thing: ENLESS SETLIST PLATINUM EMBLEMS. The thing I truly miss the most from RB1 and 2.

  2. These would be awesome. I wish Led Zeppelin would allow their tracks on games. It could open a whole new door for un knowing fans. And why no pink ffloyd on rockband? I hope to see these bands as well. Nice picks walter!
