Wrestlemania 33

So I thought I would do some predictions and let's get started quick, there are a lot of matches on this year's card. Heck, I'm not even talking about the pre-show either! Just kidding, I'm totally talking about the pre-show.

Wrestlemania XXXIII

Let's just stop and reflect that Wrestlemania has gone on for thirty three years . THIRTY THREE! Almost as old as me, but hey, good ol' wrasslin' has been around a lot longer than I've been alive.

My friend for my birthday this year got me a three month subscription to the WWE Network so I thought hey why not do some predictions on who is going to come out on top at the "Ultimate Thrill Ride" or who is going to crash and burn?

Just a quick side note, I watched Takeover: Orlando, Florida last night and that show was on point, or on fleek, or whatever the kids say this days (mumbling to self: Kids dabbing all up in front of me)...

Right, where was I? Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Wrestlemania 33 hits later today and if I don't get started now I won't be done before the show starts on the Network at 4PM today. Go!...

Wrestlemania 33. What can be said about the most over the top pay-per-view of the year? Quite a bit. I'll share my reflections about the show after it's over (probably on Monday)... EDIT: SPOILERS AHEAD. If you haven't watched the show then please DO NOT read any further. If you have then please proceed with caution. It's was a ultimate thrill ride in many respects but for all the cheers and boos, for all the pomp and circumstance, there is one burning issue about this PPV that I will get off my chest later on.

WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville vs. Austin Aries (Kickoff Match) - The King of the Cruiserweight, Neville will take on Double AA, Austin Aries on the pre-show and the belt is going to be on the line. These two guys are going to pull out all the stops and great that crowd fired up. This is a tough call on who's going to win the match. But I think I am going to put my money on...

EDIT: SPOILER - Winner and STILL Cruiserweight Champion, Neville! Yep. That's right I think the King is going to hold his title at Wrestlemania this year. Watch the King gloat over his subjects on Monday Night Raw tomorrow. EDIT: SPOILER - So I missed the entire Pre-Show! I know, whoops. So I guess Neville retained the title.

2017 Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royale (Kickoff Match) - This should be interesting. Both Superstars from RAW and Smackdown LIVE will compete. So far there are 25 Superstars entered into this match. I expect one or two surprise entrants this year. This one could be anyone's guess. But I think it's going to boil down to two men in this match. I think it's going to come down to Braun Strowman and Big Show. Who's going to win it. I'm thinking it's going to be...

The 2017 Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royale winner is Brawn Strowman! EDIT: SPOILER - It appears Mojo Rawley won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royale. Color me surprised! Good for Mojo, bad for Big Show and Strowman in the long run. Show and Strow' (see what I did there) need to build themselves up as non stop machine hell-bent on crushing everyone in their path. Seriously!

Now onto the meat and potatoes of the night.

Wrestlemania 33

Smackdown Women's Championship Match - It's Little Miss Bliss, Alexa Bliss against all women on the Smackdown roster. She has to defend her championship against the likes of Mickie James, Natalya, Becky Lynch, Carmella, and a returning Naomi! I'd be surprised if Alexa Bliss retains the title. It really could go to anyone. I'm taking a stab here with my prediction but I think it's going to be...

Winner and NEW Champion, Mickie James! EDIT: SPOILER - So this match happened about the WWE Universal Championship match which I thought was weird as hell. But I digress. I was actually doing something else in the kitchen and found out that Naomi had won the title back after having to relinquish due to injury. Good for Naomi and the Blue Brand.

Raw Tag Team Champions Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows vs. Enzo Amore & Big Cass vs. Sheamus & Cesaro (Triple Threat Ladder Match) - Somehow I missed that it's going to be a ladder match until right now when I was writing this. Awesome. This is going to be a great match. I can't seeing this match going any other way than this...

Winners and NEW Tag Team Champions, Enzo Amore & Big Cass! EDIT: SPOILER - The Hardy Boyz. Yep. You read that right. Matt and Jeff are back in the company. Also that seemed like the loudest pop of the night when their music hit and they hit the stage. The crowd went nuts. Glad to see them back and entertaining the fans.

Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose vs. Baron Corbin - I am digging on this match. I can't remember this last time Ambrose has put the title on the line and it's also great to see Corbin in a one on one match on this year's card. As much as I want to see Ambrose retain, I don't think tonight is going to be his night.

Winner and NEW Intercontinental Champion, Baron Corbin! EDIT: SPOILER - Apparently this match was also on the Pre-Show so you know, I missed it. Dean Ambrose retained the title. Which honestly, I am a little surprised to see Corbin take a loss.

John Cena & Nikki Bella vs. The Miz & Maryse - I love what these two WWE "power couples" are doing. Maryse and The Miz skits parodying Cena and Nikki have been pretty funny this last week or so. But I think we all know how this is going to end.

EDIT: SPOILERS - Winners, John Cena and Nikki Bella! Well the first one on my list that I got right. Not only did Cena and Nikki win the match, but Cena proposed to Nikki Bella live after the match. In many ways Cena's proposal overshadowed the match in terms of bringing real life into a scripted show. It was beautiful.

WWE United States Champion Chris Jericho vs. Kevin Owens - Best friends turned bitter enemies. I am loving this story arc as well between Y2J and KO. I honestly don't even know if the United States Championship is up for grabs. I guess I am going to be a bit surprised when I watch the match.

EDIT: SPOILER - Winner and NEW United States Champion,  Kevin Owens! I didn't even know this was for the belt. Again another surprise. Man this show is full of them! Great clinic put on by those two. Sad to see Y2J drop the belt, but who knows, maybe Jericho is taking a break from WWE for a bit to focus on Fozzy or something else.

Raw Women's Champion Bayley vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Sasha Banks vs. Nia Jax (Fatal 4-Way Elimination Match) - Bayley has her work cut out for her at the Grandest Stage today. Nia proved that she is the x factor in this match. This on I think is going to be very tough to call, but I'm going to go with my gut on this one.

Winner and STILL Champion, Bayley! EDIT: SPOILER - Another one I got right, that's two out of a million so far. Not too shabby. Good match by this four ladies. The Raw's Woman division is looking great.

Shane McMahon vs AJ Styles - Glad AJ in on the card but I think Shane could've given that Wrestlemania spot to someone else. I also thing that in the end the match is going to play out this way.

Winner, AJ Styles! EDIT: SPOILER - Called it again, three out of a lot though. Great match. High risk. This was the first actual Wrestlemania match of the night and it got the crowd pumped for sure.

The Undertaker vs. Roman Reigns - Ugh. Come on guys. I love Taker don't get me wrong, but after the loss of the Streak he should have retired. I think they (the WWE) are going to have Undertaker "pass the torch" to Reigns. So I see this playing out like this.

Winner, Roman Reigns! EDIT: SPOILER - This match was the last match of the night. I still stand by what I said earlier about this match. I was right. Roman Reigns won the match. The Undertaker suffered his second loss at Wrestlemania. But that isn't all. Taker left his gloves, jacket, and hat in the center of the ring. I now firmly believed that he has "hung up the boots". Indeed it looks as if Undertaker passed the torch to Reigns, which I don't understand why they would do that if Reigns is suppose to be the company's next top guy would they have him "retire" the Undertaker. The heat the crowd is going to throw on Roman is going to be harsh. Harsh.

Seth Rollins vs. Triple H (Non-Sanctioned Match) - Well this one is a bit interesting. Will Triple H end Rollins career? Will Rollins get revenge for Trips screwing him out of the title? Who knows?!? I don't. But either way it's going to be brutal and possibly even bloody. Expect a Samoa Joe run-in. Just saying!

Winner, Triple H! EDIT: SPOILER - Seth Rollins beat Triple H. I couldn't believe it. Really thought Triple H was going to win. Great match. Gotta give props to Triple H (and Sasha Banks) for taking transportation down to the ring. That ramp was the longest ever. Seriously. Does someone have the numbers for that thing. It was crazy.

WWE Universal Champion Goldberg vs Brock Lesnar - Wow. Two part timers co-headlining Wrestlemania? Let's hope its not a repeat of the infamous match back at Wrestlemania 20. I see this one (hopefully) lasting longer than their Survivor Series Match!

Winner and NEW Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar! EDIT: SPOILER - Called it! Nice. Glad to see another part-timer hold the belt. Brock is a monster and I like to see who steps up next.

WWE Champion Bray Wyatt vs. Randy Orton - I am looking forward to this match. I've been also loving this story that these two have been telling. Will Luke Harper (or dare I say, Erick Rowan) interfere in the match. I guess only time will tell. But I think we'll see it play out this way.

Winner and STILL WWE Champion, Bray Wyatt! EDIT: SPOILER - Totally messed this one up. Orton won the belt thereby striping Wyatt of his family, Sister Abagail, and the WWE Championship. Expect this two to clash tonight on Monday Night RAW.

There you have it. Thirteen matches. Lucky number thirteen. Actually I think there is going to be one more match. I think it's going to see the Smackdown Tag Team Champions The Usos vs. The Hardy Boyz. Yep. You heard that right! I think the Hardy Boyz will return tonight and challenge for the Smackdown titles. If that does happen I can only see this as the possible outcome.

Winners and NEW Smackdown Tag Team Champions, The Hardy Boyz! EDIT - See the spoiler earlier to see how wrong I am on this prediction.

Okay. I will see all you folks here tomorrow will the results and we will see how well I did! See you tomorrow!

Overall thoughts here. The show was great. But Undertaker's retirement soured it for me a bit. Just my honest opinion here. Like many fans who watch this, they grew up with the Undertaker. Heck, I got to see him and Kane face DDP & Chris Canyon in a Steel Cage Tag Team Title Match at Summerslam 2001. It's just sad to see him go, but at the same time I am glad he's done. I think everyone can agree with me here and say that Undertaker is the MAN.

Can't wait to see what happens tonight on Monday Night Raw. What did you think of Wrestlemania 33? How are they going to top that next year? I guess we'll see.
