I used to LARP. There I said it. I did it quite a bit, hell I even was the ST for the CA-D-037 way back in the day. When I started I think it was under the ISTG banner, which I believe was before the Camarilla, well before the Camarilla. I played Nosferatu a lot, played a Malkavian, played Ventrue, Brujah, Gangrel, and even Toreador, even once I played a Kiasyd. I've been thinking about LARP and the good old days, the friends I made, the stories we told. I remember people always thought they'd roll in from other places and jack our stuff, but it was like the Wild West in Modesto, Anarch Free State all the way.
Man, the roleplaying! Loved it! People were always down with the roleplaying in our group. Sure, we'd hop out of character but not that much. It was always on while at game. Good times! I'd like to thank Shane, Robert, Anna, Rudy, Tony, Damien, Mitch, Elizabeth, Lisa, Josh, Eric, Louis, Will, Mike, Amy, Angel, Kevin, Naomi, and the countless other whom I've forgotten to mention that used to play in our games, and of course the out of towners who always brought their "A" game as well. You all rock and I thank you for making those weekends fun, exciting, and never ever boring! Huzzah!
I think I would like to check out the new system that is being put together by the game company called "By Night", and now that I'm in the PNW I would love to play with some of the fine folks in the Seattle and surrounding areas! Maybe it's time to bring back Daniel the Prophet or Abbadon... hmmm, the insane possibilities!
Do you LARP? Did you stop? I would love to hear your stories about it here on my blog! See you all tomorrow with This Week in Rock (Games)!
We're still going strong with the LARP around here. Playing the new one Requiem and going back to the old Masquerade. Me and Houston are going in pretty hard on the By Night kickstarter and what they have put out looks really good you may be pleased with their work. If you get the chance and are in the area you should hit us up.
