Mondo Monday: Cannibal Ferox

Or as most people know it by the alternative film title of, Make Them Die Slowly, which was released in 1981 by Italian film director, Umberto Lenzi (Nightmare City, Eaten Alive). This film has it all folks! Acts of deprivity. Check. Animals killing animals (yeah real animals killing each other, this part of the film has been debated and talked about elsewhere and I'm not really getting into it. If you wanna know a bit more, do some research lazy bones!). Check. Rape. Check. Murder. Check. Revenge. Check. Chopped off heads, piked through the ass bodies, large fish hooks in nipples. Checkity-Check Check!

I found this on a whim on day in the Warehouse Music Store back when I lived in California. Never one to turn down a possible cannibal film, I snatched it up and ran down the road back to my house to plop this video in the DVD player.

Grainy documentary style footage. Not the best of dialogue, but if you want great dialogue, look somewhere else. Cannibals films were all the rage in the early 80's. This is one of the better ones, minus the real animal killing.

If you've never seen it (and you can stomach the brutal animal scenes) then check it out. I mean, it got a 98 on Joe Bob Briggs Vomit Meter. If that ain't great advertising, then, damn it, I don't know what is.
