Speed, Weed, and Nekkid!

Seattle%20residents%20asking%20mayor%20for%20nude%20beach

So the top three things off of the Seattle Times website article that people in Seattle want Major Mike McGinn to approve is a light rail system for transportation, legalization of marijuana, and a nude beaches. You'd think all those coffee stands are altering the native life here in the Pacific Northwest but I guess it's something else. The streets are really congested here it's like crackheads designed the roads and highways up here and to go off on that what the fuck is up with no street lights or sidewalks?!? Being a pedestrian is like gambling with your life every day you step out the door. But I digress...

Will that bring in tax revenue, yes, of course it will. Also, having light rail would be a great thing to get some cars off the road. Nude beaches, well, sure if people want it and it's a alternative to traditional beaches and would probably bring some more tourism up this way. All in all, sure everybody wins!

Video Games: Tetris Evolution

So the review is a bit late.  But here it is... Tetris Evolution.  What can I say Tetris is great!  Could this have been a expansion pack to the already released on Xbox Live Arcade.  Yes.  Yes it could.  But it's Tetris, so I guess I can forgive... Not much to the game but there really doesn't need to be.  I give it a 6 out of 10.   Overpriced.  Yes.  Fun to play.  Yes as well.

Tomorrow's review is  PGR 3!

Video Games: Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth 2

I didn't really care for the game.  I've played a lot of strategy games and it didn't bring anything new to the table.  I love the movies but the games have never really lived up to the hype.  I would rather have played Civilization or even the Sims.... a pitiful 3 out of 10...

Video Games: Viva Pinata

Well... I liked the game.  I didn't get very far as I remember there not being a tutorial really.  But it was fun while it lasted, though I think I like Animal Crossing or Harvest Moon a little bit better.  The graphics are what you'd expect from a game like that.  The sounds are decent and the animations are cute.  For the casual gamer it would probably be enjoyable but for those hardcore guys and gals it's probably a pass.  I'd give it a 5 out of 10.

Tomorrow's review shall be... Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth 2.

Video Games: Dig Dug (Review)

Today is another Xbox Live Arcade game review.  Dig Dug!  Does it hold up?  Yes, I am here to say that it does.  I enjoyed it very much and was surprisingly tough still to this day.  Is it a buy?  Probably not for most people but since I'm a retro addict it was a purchase day 1 that it came out on Xbox Live Arcade.  Graphics and sound isn't great but the game was made in 1982.  After the 11th level it actually became really hard and I have to stop for a bit.

Tomorrow's review will be Viva Pinata for the Xbox 360!  See ya then!

Comic Books: Uncanny X-Men # 200 (Review)

The Trail of Magneto!  A super duper double sized issue written by Chris Claremont.  I enjoyed the issue and compared to some of the recent issues in Uncanny it was really wordy which I didn't mind at all.  The art work was great as well as the pencils and ink and whatnot.  If you've never read an Uncanny comic I am not sure if this would be the place to start.  All in all, a 7 out of 10.  Pretty freaking good!

Tomorrow's review will be Uncanny X-Men # 201.  Enjoy!

Video Games: Battlefield 2: Modern Combat (Review)

This was one of the first games I bought and it was one of the first that I traded back into GameStop.  Didn't care for it.  The visuals though now dated were pretty good for the time being.  The controls as I recall were pretty awful.  Online was a joke and I don't recall many people online playing even when the game first came out.  All in all it was not a great game.  I'd give it a 4 out of 10.  Dreadful.

Next review will be Xbox Live Arcade's Hardwood Backgammon.  See ya tomorrow!

Personal: Comics I've read.

So my last post gave me an idea to do a review a day on the comics that I've read too.  I know there are a lot of comic fans out there so I hope they enjoy!  A little bit of personal history about me, I've been reading comics since the ripe age of six I believe.  My first real taste was Alan Moore's run in Saga of the Swamp Thing (Vol. 2), pretty insane reading for a six year old, but I was blessed with parents that didn't censor my reading (I also read Clive Barker's The Damnation Game when I was 11).  Though I'm not starting with Swamp Thing, I thought I'd start with my largest collection that I've read, Uncanny X-Men!

Tomorrow's review will be Uncanny X-Men #200.  Enjoy!

Personal: Games I've Played

I've played a lot of games in my young life.  From the Atari 2600 to the Xbox 360, I'd ventured to say that I've played 1000's of games.  Some fun; Haunted House (Atari 2600), Metal Gear Solid (NES), Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth (Xbox), Rock Band 2 (Xbox 360) to the not so fun; Space Ace (Arcade), The 7th Guest (PC), The Fifth Element (PlayStation), Wii Play (Wii).  Don't get me wrong I have favorites on the consoles I've listed that I've had less fun on, my point is I've played a lot of games.  I thought I would begin to review all the games I've played (demos excluded) on my Xbox 360 console.  I will begin this tomorrow and continue until I'm finished will all the games.

Hope you enjoy!

Tomorrow's post will be Battlefield 2: Modern Combat!

Video Games: Batman: Arkham Asylum

Batman could do against a number of baddies. It reminded me of watching The Dark Knight film as I was playing the game. The difficulty was tough even on the normal setting, I don't think I would have like playing on the highest difficulty. The map of Arkham... was decent in size, not too large and not too small. I didn't like hunting for everything. I'm getting really tired of those things in games... but I digress. Sound was great as well as the graphics.

I can't wait to see what they do with the next game that was just announced. Finally there is a Batman game that gamers can be proud of... now where is my First Edition The Killing Joke is...
